Waiter, There’s a pill in my dinner!

The ongoing saga of "how I gave my cat his meds."

Well, if you're just tuning in, last week we had the "blue liver pill" fiasco.
I've discovered--via my 3rd-sibling sister--a neat little product called "Greenies Pill Pockets," at the Farmers Supply. It's a nice soft little cat treat, with a hole in it, where you stick the [blue liver] pill, squish it all closed around the pill, and give your cat a treat!

so, okay. Abu's good with that. for day one. day two. day three. Then, he seems to have caught on. Day four. I left the two treats he gets on the carpet for him. He left them there. About three hours later when I checked on the treats, sitting there exactly in the same spot was one little blue pill. No treats.

The following night: let's switch the treats, put that pill in a different treat, and squish it all up. Three hours later. Nice little blue pill sitting on the carpet!

Okay, so now, well, we've finished up the prescription of blue pills (yes, the in-the-mouth-last resort method did it). Now we just get the one-half tablet of thyroid pills, which break down real nice. That one goes in the pill pocket. No problems!

Last night, I got his treats all nice and ready (all two of them). I set them down on my little couch-side table, on a little tray, while I went to the kitchen to gather my dinner, figuring to give Abu his treats a little bit later, while we're both sitting there. So, I'm on my couch. I'm eating my fresh corn on the cob from Butynski's, {delicious!}. I glance over to the little table, to the little tray. There's NO treats!!! Just a couple of treat crumbs. He ATE his treats!! he went and got them himself, and he ATE them! Pill and all.
What a funny little pumpkin!
